SNACK GUIDELINES
We form our attitudes about food very early in life, and those attitudes can be influenced by the people around us. We would like to help the child develop a good attitude about food and expand the child's knowledge of foods beyond what she has experienced at home.

Here are some tips for packing your kid's lunch:
-
Pack food in a lunch box and containers that your child can open himself.
-
Label the lunchbox and containers with the child's name.
-
Include two napkins every day. One will be used for a placemat.
-
No ziplock or folding sandwich bags. Zip bags are too difficult for little hands to open and folding bags are like puzzle boxes for toddlers.
-
Pre-open cheese sticks, bars, etc. and pack in an easy-open container.
-
Cut, peel, and slice all fruit and hard boiled eggs in advance.
-
No yogurt tubes, pouches, or juice boxes that a child cannot open unassisted.
-
Sip cup or drink container with a pop up straw is recommended.
-
Include a cold pack if sending food that requires refrigeration.
-
Nothing that needs to be heated

Sharing of food is not allowed, even between siblings or best friends!
